Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, fun and value based program for our Early Childhood Program's Children in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures the health, safety and well being of children in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.
- Supervise program participants, administer recreational activities for children and address any issues that may arise with parents.
- Provide a safe, fun and inviting environment for participants in our child care area.
- Work cooperatively with professional staff, coworkers and other departments.
- Maintain knowledge of all YMCA programs and services to assist members in selection of services that meet their individual needs.
- Communicate with families, on a daily basis, about their children’s strengths and areas needing attention.
- Actively participant in all training sessions and designed meetings and special events. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years child care experience.
- First Aid/CPR and Child Abuse Prevention certification.
- 45 hours of child care training preferred
- Current CDA preferred
- Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred
- Basic computer skills.
