Position Summary:
|
Displays outstanding customer service and supervises the strength & cardiovascular areas of the Fitness Center by providing safe and appropriate fitness information and instruction to members.
|
Essential Functions:
|
· Welcome, assist and interact with members using the fitness center facility.
· Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and their relationship to the development of strength training programs.
· Awareness of current fitness programs and trends.
· Assist members in effectively utilizing equipment.
· Conduct New Member Orientations as required.
· Test all Cardio and Strength training equipment daily.
· Cleaning duties outlined in daily shift duties.
· Provide a high degree of member service through a professional relationship with the members in regards to their needs, concerns, and questions about the YMCA, its programs and mission.
· Have a thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action for emergency situations.
· Ability to relate to and work with people of diverse backgrounds and interests.
· Work cooperatively with professional staff and other departments.

Functional Competencies:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a health and fitness environment.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:
· Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of the position including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
