| Q: I'm still interested in keeping a YMCA in Bonita Springs. How can I get involved? |
|
We are hosting a community forum in Bonita Springs on Monday, June 20, at the First Presbyterian Church, 9751 Bonita Beach Rd. in McClure Hall from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, so we can gather input and develop possible solutions from the community for consideration.
If you can't make this meeting, please send an e-mail to info@ymcapalms.org with your contact information and we'll make sure you are kept updated on any future meetings and/or opportunities to stay connected to the Y.

| Q: What will happen with the after-school program? |
|
A: The Bonita Springs YMCA ran an after-school program for the community for students of Bonita Springs Elementary and Middle Schools through the end of the 2010-2011 school year. This program was made possible through a grant from the State of Florida’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
Due to the suspension of operations at the Bonita Springs YMCA, we are not able to continue offering this program for the upcoming school year. We are hopeful that another agency will be able to continue this (or a similar) program in the future.

| Q: I've been a member of the Bonita Springs YMCA. What are my options? |
| A: We welcome all members to continue their membership at the Greater Naples YMCA. |
| |
| Q: Will the Bonita Springs YMCA continue to be available as a hurricane shelter? |
| A: In the event of a hurricane or other threat, the YMCA has staff on standby to make the facility available as an emergency public shelter. We’ve contacted both the Lee County Emergency Operations Center and the American Red Cross of Lee County to let them know access to the facility is a phone call away. While we are suspending operations, we remain committed to the needs of the Bonita Springs community. |
