The Bonita Springs YMCA is proud to announce a new after-school program for the community called Bonita Club Y. This new program is made possible through a grant from the State of Florida’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers, the first-ever award of this grant in Lee County.
The purpose of the program is to provide at-risk students with opportunities for academic enrichment, personal enrichment, and other activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program. The program also engages the adult family members, of actively participating students, through educational and personal development opportunities.
The Bonita Club Y After School Program provides a safe environment for Bonita Springs students during after school hours and provides a range of high-quality services to support student learning and development, including, but not limited to:
- tutoring and mentoring,
- academic enrichment (e.g., homework assistance, reading, math, science, and technology programs),
- service learning,
- character education,
- physical education and recreational activities, and
- dropout prevention.
Bonita Club Y will be held every school day from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at two locations:
- At Bonita Springs Middle School
- At the Bonita Springs YMCA (for students of Bonita Springs Elementary School)
