Get ready for big changes coming up at the Greater Naples YMCA!
LOCKER ROOM RENOVATIONS: The Y is making major changes to its Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms!
- The current Men’s and Women’s locker rooms will be completely updated: new lockers, new paint and tile, and more!
- A section of each existing locker room will be used to create two new Family Locker Rooms.
- We are still waiting on final permits to start the project but our hope is have the renovations complete in early December.
- We are working hard to minimize any inconvenience to our members during the renovation process.
EXPANSION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDCARE PROGRAM: Construction is underway on the new YMCA Gaynor Child Development Center!
- In 2007, the YMCA purchased the former Teddy Bear Museum and is working on transforming it into the YMCA Gaynor Child Development Center.
- The new YMCA Gaynor Child Development Center will include 7 classrooms for an additional 126 children.
- While renovation proceeds, we opened temporary classrooms to accommodate 44 children within the Greater Naples YMCA Branch so that students can start their school year at the YMCA on August 18.
- The cost of this project is $3.5 million. To date the YMCA has raised $1.6 million.
- We are still working to meet a $500,000 challenge matching grant from the Naples Children & Education Foundation. Donors to the capital campaign can receive naming rights and help the YMCA meet the matching grant.
Please bookmark this page or check the display board in the main hallway of the Greater Naples Y for the latest information as both these projects get underway.
