KEEPING STEWARDSHIP OF OUR ENDOWMENT IN MIND:
In navigating through these tough economic times, I felt it important to let you know how your YMCA Endowment is managed. Proper management and stewardship is important for any endowment fund. Proper management and stewardship includes a regular review of the fund and investments, a sound Investment Policy, a professionally managed account, and a strong Board of Directors.
The YMCA Endowment fund has and independent board of financial, insurance and legal professionals that meet on a regular basis to discuss the business of the Endowment, the support of the YMCA of the Palms, and review of the Endowment fund assets and performance. Additionally, the Endowment Board has put in place an Investment Review Committee to work with the manger of the Endowment fund and to make sure that the Investment Policy is appropriate for long term sustainable growth given changes in the economy, investment strategies, and marketplace.
Our board members work closely with the YMCA and have a love for the YMCA and its programs. This Board of Directors manages the funds and also works with donors to structure current gifts and planned gifts.
This proper management of the Endowment Fund has helped the fund provide over $1,200,000 in support to the YMCA of the Palms. These funds help families participate in the life changing YMCA programs. The endowment is essential to the YMCA building STRONG KIDS, STRONG FAMILIES, AND STRONG COMMUNITIES.
